I was scrolling through twitter the other day when I came across an article posted by Stereogum.com. The article claimed that experts are saying that live music won’t make a return until 2021, but lets find out if this is actually true.
It is no joke that the world is under serious distress right now. Positive cases of COVID-19 are popping up more and more every single day. The news is oversaturated with information right now, so much so that it’s becoming hard to find the information we are looking for.
Are concerts really going to shut down until fall 2021?
This is a question I can’t quite answer, but from doing some additional reading, here’s what I have gathered.
No one truly knows what the future has in store for the music industry. These articles are more clickbait than educational. New studies are being done daily to help us better understand the situation we are in. Right now, all predictions for the future are subject to change.
Large gatherings are not permitted for the time being, but there are concerts being postponed until the fall. The best thing we can do right now is stay inside and hope for the best. Concerts may not make an immediate return, but that gives us more opportunities to try and support musicians in other ways.
