4/20 Song of the Week

Take a blast to the past with me while I reflect on my poor attempt at teenage rebellion. Today I’m going to talk about one of my personal favorite bands, Lobby Boxer.

This week’s song of choice is inspired by my high school years. At the tender age of 16, I remember sneaking out of my house to go see Lobby Boxer perform in a basement. Joined by my two best friends, we embarked on our first house show and it was all history from there. That show is what started my love for local music and I miss that feeling more than ever. With everything going on in the world right now, I find myself reaching for those moments I did not cherish enough as they were happening. I think this song really encompasses that feeling. The title “Where I’ll Be Next Year” really struck me recently. I can not say where I am going to be next year. The world is full of uncertainties right now and I think we are all trying to grasp for answers that we won’t get.
